A Thoughtfully Designed Sunroom for Family, Function & Relaxation

Originally built as an addition to their 200+ year-old home, our clients envisioned their sunroom as a vibrant, multi-use space. However, without a clear layout, it slowly became a holding zone for unused furniture—far from the warm and welcoming environment they had hoped for.

When they came to us, they had a clear vision for how they wanted to use the space but needed help bringing it to life. With frequent visits from their children and grandchildren, they asked for a comfortable TV area for movie nights and entertaining, a cozy spot for board games and conversation, a well-organized entryway, and dedicated space for an extensive book collection.

To meet their needs, we strategically divided the large, open room into distinct functional zones. Custom built-ins were designed to make the most of the high ceilings, including a full-height bookcase with integrated storage for board games and concealed media components—hidden neatly behind bi-fold sliding doors for a clean, streamlined look.

The existing entrance closet was replaced with a tailored storage solution featuring coat hooks, seasonal overhead storage, and a built-in drawer that doubles as both purse storage and a convenient seat. A custom ladder offers access to the upper shelving, while additional hooks provide simple, kid-friendly organization.

The result is a beautifully considered space that blends comfort, purpose, and charm—finally fulfilling the sunroom’s original promise as a favorite gathering spot for every generation.
